The postpartum period is a transformative adjustment: bodily and emotionally. With the birth of a baby, new and experienced parents are asked to navigate new waters, to lose sleep, to grow, to examine themselves as parents and partners, and heal from pregnancy and childbirth.
Whether you are pregnant and planning for the future, or postpartum at any point in your journey, our Optimizing Postpartum Recovery Workshop, taught by AWAKEN founder, Zoë Etkin and Pelvic Floor PT, Amy Moses (of Sundara Wellness), offers attendees evidence-based, cutting edge information on pelvic floor and core health paired with holistic, global postpartum traditions to help you heal well. You'll walk away from this workshop with a list of self-healing modalities, as well as resources in the community that support postpartum recovery (such as PT, acupuncture, mental health services, vaginal steam providers, postpartum doulas, and more).
There is a growing movement to acknowledge the need for support in the postpartum time, and we are thrilled to present you with information that will help you have the best postpartum possible. Perhaps you will implement a 40 day rest period, or take advantage of one of the pelvic health providers in our area. It's all about finding modalities and approaches that fit with your lifestyle, acknowledging the need for rest and recuperation, and creating a postpartum plan.
Partners are encouraged to attend this workshop as well. We have information on how they can support you in the postpartum, as well as information about their experience as new parents.
